Listener comments for SCOTUS series:

“So I am taking down my Christmas decorations, having timed it for the New Year’s Day Vienna concert. Then I move on to the tree itself and Civics 101. I want you to know that I timed the dismantling of the tree; the loading into the car; and the drive to the farm where I was giving it to a friend’s sheep; and the subsequent clearing out of dead needles, all to make sure I didn’t miss a word of the Dred Scott decision program. Mind you, I live in Sandwich, where NHPR coverage is a tad….spotty…to say the least. That is compelling story telling… but more importantly to me is the educational part of all that. I have been to St. Louis, learned about Dred Scott, yada, yada, but hearing about it in a new, more compelling way has expanded my understanding of that. Now I have moved on to Plessy…I know that these are podcasts and can be accessed anytime/anywhere but on this gloomy, drizzly day it felt good to listen to “live” radio (even though I am fully aware that it wasn’t live). So, thanks. I am so glad I am a sustaining member.” -Ruth Stuart

“You all did a magnificent job of recontextualizing a not-so-widely known case. Highlighting the anti-canon to show how we as humans often err and how we can use those examples to teach is worthy of applause.” -@bilalmuhammad

“I’ve spent this rainy, cold Saturday afternoon listening to your Civics 101 podcasts on race and the Supreme Court. They are excellent – intelligent, thought provoking, and soul searching as well. Many thanks.” - Jeff Garmel

“As a lawyer I am still learning! Generally because I went to law school I like to think I know a lot about civics, however this podcast helps deepen my understanding and knowledge even more, so much I didn’t know!” -Dan Koz

“I really enjoyed our talk, and I’ve heard lots of compliments on the episode.” - Jim Obergefell
