Dave teaches Social Studies at Milford High School, where his We the People team regularly excels at state competitions. He is the President of the New Hampshire Council for Social Studies, is the recipient of an American Civic Education Teacher Award, was the guest on our episode of How a Bill Becomes a Law, and is a tremendous DJ.
Elizabeth is in her third year at Prospect Mountain High School in Alton, NH, teaching Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Civics, and Freshmen Seminar. Before PMHS, she worked at Innovation Academy Charter School in Tyngsboro, MA and Windham High School. She has an M.Ed in Secondary Social Studies Education from Lesley University and a bachelor's degree in Film and Television from Boston University.
Elizabeth is also an avid podcast listener, and incorporates them in the classroom across a wide range of topics.
Ruth Jones is in her 7th year as a history teacher at Edna Brewer Middle School in Oakland, California. In addition to teaching, she serves as a co-chair for the History Department at EBMS. She is currently pursuing her M.Ed in International and Multicultural Education at the University of San Francisco. She has a B.A. in Spanish from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
Ruth is a fan of podcasts and looks to include them more in her instructional practices.
DK is the co-founder of Inquiring Minds, a company that offers democratic processes and programs that improve student engagement, self reliance and development. She is an author, designer, TED resident, and developer of Kids’ Council—a unique, free after-school program in which kids take the lead, setting up a micro-democracy right in their classrooms.
Robbie Tubbs, Jr.
Robbie is a Civics teacher at Clearfield Area Jr/Sr High School in Pennsylvania and an avid Civics 101 and NPR listener. He is currently working on a Master's Degree in Secondary Education as well as an Administration Certification. Robbie is a member of the Pennsylvania Council of the Social Studies, his district's Professionalism in Education Committee, as well as serving as an elected member of the Clearfield borough council. Robbie believes that effective civic education is crucial to a strong and stable future.
Sarah teaches Social Studies at Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School. She is a doctoral student working to earn a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction in Social Science Education from the University of South Florida. She is an active member of both the Florida Council for the Social Studies and National Council for the Social Studies.
